Are You Bored With Your Own BS?
Mindfulness, Self-Compassion, and Coaching for Sustainable Change
We’ve all heard about comfort zones — those familiar places where we feel safe, stable, and in control. But what happens when your comfort zone starts to feel… uncomfortable? When you're no longer growing? When you feel disconnected from joy, purpose, or the expansive life you know you're capable of living?
Here’s something to consider: it's estimated that we have up to 60,000 thoughts a day, and for most of us, the vast majority are repeats from the day before. We become caught in a loop — thinking the same thoughts, telling ourselves the same stories, reinforcing the same beliefs. Is it any surprise, then, that we end up doing the same things over and over?
Add to that the human tendency toward negativity bias — an evolutionary survival mechanism that kept our ancestors alert to danger but now shows up as the inner critic. That voice that zooms in on our mistakes and overlooks our strengths. Psychologists remind us: we were built for survival, not happiness. And so we end up with a potent combination — stagnation + self-judgment — that blocks growth and diminishes joy.
So, let’s return to the central question:
Are you bored with your own BS?
This isn't an accusation — it’s an invitation. Awareness is the first step in shifting these patterns. Mindfulness offers a way in. It teaches us to pause, to notice — "Ah, here’s that same old script again" — and to meet that recognition not with shame or avoidance, but with Mindful Self-Compassion.
Self-compassion doesn’t mean letting yourself off the hook. It means acknowledging your humanity with tenderness, creating space for both acceptance and accountability. From this foundation, change becomes more possible — and more sustainable.
This is where coaching comes in. A skilled coach helps you not only notice your patterns but also hold space for your strengths, illuminate blind spots, and support you to take aligned, courageous action. A coach doesn’t just soothe or cheerlead — they challenge you, hold you accountable, and partner with you to move toward the life you truly want.
So, if you’re feeling stuck, joyless, or like you’re just repeating the same loop — maybe it’s time. To step out of the familiar. To get curious about your habits. To soften your inner landscape. And to work with someone who can help you break free — not by force, but with clarity, compassion, and consistent action.
You don’t have to do this alone. And you’re not meant to stay stuck.
